Title: Testing non-oscillatory explanations of the MiniBooNE excess

Abstract
Explaining the MiniBooNE excess of electron-like events with neutrino oscillations is presently disfavored by global neutrino data. Here the focus is on non-oscillatory explanations of the excess, all of which involve BSM physics. Possible scenarios which address the excess in the MiniBooNE detector with the observed energy spectrum are identified and systematically discussed. Data is considered from the neutrino experiments T2K and NOνA near detectors, MINERνA, NOMAD and PS191. It is found that all the existing models can be tested in at least one experiment. This lets us conclude that all the BSM explanations of MiniBooNE could be excluded already with present data.
