Title: Galaxy clusters: a tool for cosmology

Abstract
Galaxy clusters are one of the main probes to investigate the nature of dark matter and provide us with precious insights into the nature of dark energy. In this talk I will explain how these objects form through the cosmic time, how they can be found in various data sets (millimeter, optical and X-rays) and finally how we use them to constrain the properties of the universe. As a practical application I will present our results based on the Kilo Degrees Survey data set and the prospects for the Euclid space mission.
