Title: Dark matter as a guide beyond the Standard Models

Abstract
The existence of dark matter is one of the most robust pieces of evidence for the need of new physics. In this talk, we explore possible connections between dark matter and other open problems of the standard models of particle physics and cosmology. This line of though leads to well-motivated dark matter models that feature distinct observational predictions. As an example, we describe how generalized gravitational interactions of light bosonic fields may play a key role in the production of this sort of dark matter in the early Universe. In this setup, the size of the non-minimal couplings to gravity can be directly linked to properties of the distribution of dark matter at sub-galactic scales.
