Title: Gauge hierarchy problem and scalegenesis

Abstract

We discuss the meaning of the gauge hierarchy problem from the viewpoint of the renormalization group. So-called classical scale invariance could be a solution to this problem. If the standard model is scale invariant, it does not have any scale corresponding to the electroweak one: The scale has to be generated by quantum effects. We call this process “scalegenesis". In this talk, we introduce scalegenesis based on strong dynamics and discuss its phenomenological implications.
