Time evolution of the superfluid phase configuration starting from an initial vortex dipole. Left in the holographic system, and right in the DGPE. Initially, we align the vortex dipole horizontally with a separation of 150 grid points in both theories. The results are produced on a 512 x 512 numerical grid for both theories and with 32 collocation points along the additional z-direction in holography. The phases show qualitative agreement until shortly before the vortices annihilate.
