Lehrveranstaltungen im Sommersemester 2023Advanced Condensed Matter TheoryDate and Location: Philosophenweg 12, kHS Tuesday 11-13 Tutorial: Philosophenweg 12, kHS, Monday 9-11 The course starts at Tuesday April, 18 The course will be hold in English. During the last years condensed matter theory made an enormous progress. New phenomena led to new methods and concepts. The goal of this course is to introduce these methods and concepts and to understand some of the new phenomena. Important new phenomena are:
One focus of this course are methods to treat such systems, mainly based on field theoretical formulation of models of interacting fermions or bosons. This serves as a starting point for perturbational approaches, for effective field theories, and for renormalization. The second focus is to use these and other methods to understand the physics of strongly correlated systems, esp. strongly correlated Fermi systems. The above mentioned examples fall into this class, as well as several other phenomena we will discuss in this course. Literature, which may be useful for this course:
A script for the course will be available as well.
