Exercises during lecture time

In these lectures, you will learn the concepts of flavor physics, the physics of weak interactions between quarks and leptons. We will approach each topic both from the theoretical and experimental side. The lecture series will be accompanied by a set of exercises, which allow you to test your knowledge and apply what you have learned. Whether you decide to continue in experimental or theoretical flavor physics afterwards, you should be well equipped for your research project.


  • Introduction to flavor physics in the standard model
  • Experimental evidence of quarks and leptons
  • Effective field theory for weak decays
  • Quark flavor physics: QCD bound states, meson mixing, CP violation, rare decays
  • Lepton flavor physics: lepton flavor violation, electric and magnetic moments
