How to get to the IWH

Nearby airports to Heidelberg are: Frankfurt am Main Flughafen (all major flight companies fly to/from here), Frankfurt Hahn Flughafen (mainly low-cost airlines, e.g. Ryanair), Stuttgart Flughafen (all major flight companies and several low-cost ones, e.g. Ryanair, Germanwings, Easyjet) , Baden Baden Flughafen (low-cost companies).

From Frankfurt am Main Flughafen you can take trains to Heidelberg, which is the recommended option (cost around 25 euros). To book a train ticket, please visit the Deutsche Bahn webpage. Choose Heidelberg-Altstadt as your destination to reach directly the IWH (usually you need to change train in Mannheim Hbf or in Heidelberg Hbf), otherwise put Heidelberg Hbf to reach the central station from where you can walk or take a bus to any place in the city. From the airport you can also take a shuttle bus that brings you directly to your hotel (cost around 40 euros), by booking a ticket from the shuttle bus page. Once in Heidelberg

To go to the IWH: From Heidelberg Main Station (Hbf) you can take the S-Bahn to the Heidelberg Altstadt Station. From there it is approximately a 4min walk to get to the IWH, at Hauptstrasse 242. S-Bahn trains from Heidelberg Hbf to Heidelberg Altstadt leave approximately every 20 mins.

You can also take bus 33 (direction Ziegelhausen Köpfel) from Heidelberg Main Station (Hbf) and get off at the stop "Neckarmünzplatz". From there it is a 5min walk to the IWH.

Buses leave from the bus stop located in front of the main entrance of the station to "Neckarmünzplatz" approximately every 20 mins.
